The Richmond Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition
March 1, 2006
Open Call for Artist Proposals for the 2006 Richmond Outdoor Sculpture exhibition. Artists and artist teams are requested to submit proposals to an open call for outdoor sculpture in the old Manchester district of Richmond, Virginia to be exhibited August 25 to October 29, 2006.
Located immediately across the James River from downtown Richmond, Manchester is a turn-of-the-century warehouse district. The Manchester section of Richmond is mostly notable for its development potential and arts district. With recent commercial additions and the numerous refurbished industrial building loft condominiums, the neighborhood is home to a dynamic community of artists, and enjoys spectacular views of the Richmond skyline and the fall of the James.
2005 was the first year for the Richmond Outdoor Sculpture. The exhibition was a walking tour throughout the Manchester District and brought out over 700 people opening night alone! Visit www.richmondoutdoorsculpture.com for more information.
Submission Guidelines: Please submit a written description, sketch or photographs of the proposed sculpture or installation on no more than two 8.5" x 11" sheets of paper (do not send originals). Digital files are excepted on CD ONLY. Make sure all files are JPEGs and are 5 inches in the longest dimension and 200 dpi RGB or B&W. Label CDs with your name, phone number and email (if available).
Each site requires certain protective measures and must be returned to the original condition after the exhibition ends.
Click here to download a PDF of the entry form which contains additional guidelines. If you are unable to access the pdf please email info@richmondoutdoorsculpture.com for a copy to be emailed to you.
The deadline for proposals has been extended to March 1, 2006.
